Hello family and friends!

Mom the pictures didn't work but I think it's just the computer. We will try a different one that is a little more leanient. ( I have never had to spell that word before. sorry!)

I keep a list too so I can remember what to write you :)

It sounds like you all are doing so good I'm so happy about that!

Temple Square was an awesome experience! I taught an anti-mormon from Australia. She was very nice and even recognized that she felt the spirit but wanted nothing to do with the Book of Mormon. She was probably 80 years old. And then we taught this couple about families and the spirit was so strong! We even got referrals out of them. I was like FINALLY some missionary work!!

I was also trained in the referral center which is basically online proselyting. We were teaching Stephen and all he would talk about the scripture in Revelations about dragons. he would not stop! Then we taught another girl who wants to go on a mission from argentina. And the last girl we taught was from the UK and we sent a referral to the missionaries. The online referral center just automatically sends the missionaries in that area a text message that we can type out. It's pretty cool.

So on Tuesday we left at 8 AM. The flight was 37 minutes long. HAHA. We stayed at the Brinkerhoff's. I wish you guys knew them. They are so cool! It was so good to talk to everyone that I did at the airport! Sorry I started crying right away mom....I just couldn't help it I was so happy to hear your voice!! Can you check to see if Grandma and Grandpa got my message that I left them?

My area right now is Rigby South and I am in love with it. Everyone here is super nice and we get treated really good. dinners every night, free food from gardens, free eggs, free bread, and anything we need really. I feel really blessed. Like last night we came home and there was a melon stuck in our door that someone dropped off. hah I love it! One of our neighbors has a goat that we feed our scrap food to and our other neighbors have horses that always come by to say hi. Oh we live in this cute little log cabin. I kill all of the spiders inside and keep a flip-flop by my bed :) Just like when we were in Wisconsin on the bunk beds!!

My companion is Sister Owens. She is from Dallas Texas but her family just moved to Le Grande Oregon. She is way nice but has been sick. My first two days I stayed at home studying for most of the day while she slept. She still has to take naps during the day. haha. she feels bad but what can ya do? Her Mom grew up in Wausau and her Grandparents are still there. Their last name is Growcock. Do you know them? Her first area was Rigby south (3 months), then Rexburg (10.5 months) and now Rigby South again :)

I got dropped off in Rexburg and sister owens picked me up. We went to Alberston's there. I drove by Brandon and Danielle's House and K.C. and Shane's house. It was weird. I wanted to roll down the window and yell their names! haha

One of the first families we visited was the Hamptons. They have 4 little boys and a week old girl. They are so funny. We were downstairs playing with the kids and they showed us how the could wrestle. There was a mouse in the storm window (outside) and Regan grabbed some pencils and ran outside while we watched him try to spear the mouse. haha. The littlest boy (Ezra) named him Bugzy and would just yell "Shut-Up Bugzy"!!! I couldn't contain myself it was so funny! Ezra broke his wrist so he has this tiny cast. He is only 3. All of the boys call me Sister Racoons. Another family we visited was the Daniels. We call them Grandma and Grandpa. Grandma is recently reactivated and is working on going to the temple in October! We will probably get to go with her!!! Grandpa isn't a member so we visit him a lot. He loves to talk :) He has a great deck and garden so we usually sit out there and soak up some sun. He is a wood worker too! He recently busted his thumb on a table saw. Then we visited The Richies. They are an older couple, Elaine and JD. JD just got back from the hospital (not sure what for. I guess it was a close call though) so we went to see them. Elaine is an amazing seamstress, so she will be able to alter anything of mine if needed. Sister Dean fed us some pizza and the most amazing chocolate chip cookies (next to mom). She used mini hershey kisses for the chips. so good. She is a ward misisonary and is ready to work! We love her. Her daughters are Sydney and Macy. I'm already getting a pile of pictures from them. Austyn Richards is a recent convert form October. He is 16 and is the bomb!! He is obsessed with the packers too! He almost passed out when he heard I was from wisonsin. I think that him and grandpa would be best buds. The Hamptons really fellowshipped him and his family. (His sister is a non-member and his mom is a less active). He sat with us at church with his packer tie on. haha. The Bailey's are another family I love. Brother Bailey is a Ward Mission Leader. He only works every other Friday, so he is always willing to help us out. The Drakes are the senior couple that inspect our home. sister Owens never really sleeps at night and they got her a special mattress for her. They are always checking in on us. I love them! The Wolfley's are an amazing family. You would love them! They are from portland and home school all five of their kids. Sister Wolfley is an AMAZING cook! she misses the good food from Portland and she can just make up recipies! Last night she tested out pad thai on us. it was bomb. Their kids are adorable. They call me Sister Cocoon. We tried visiting an investigator named Jonnie. She has one of those dogs that is the size of a horse. We were knocking on her door and I turned around and there it was. It scared the crap out of me!! All of the young women just got back from girls camp so sacrament meetings were awesome. They all talked about girls camp and It made me miss girls camp! I hope I get to be a camp director when I'm older. Too bad that isn't a profession you can choose. There are just so many cool families here. I'll try to tell you about them more as I meet them. I'll keep you updated on people we are teaching too! Once that gets going :)

love,
Sister Camryn Kuhns

  1. I didn't realize that "Kuhns" had so many fun variants! I feel like I missed out on a lot of nicknaming opportunities!!!
