August 13, 2012 letter from Cami:)

Dear Family and Friends

I love you guys!! Thanks for the letters and the emails!!

I thought Makayla was turning 4....she is just getting so tall and talking so much! Oops!

This week was amazing as usual. so many miracles :)

On Tuesday we had district meeting and Interviews with President Brinkerhoff and Sister Brinkerhoff! They went really well! Sister Owens and I both told them how much we love each other and how well we get along and that we would REALLY love to stay together for awhile!! (she goes home in December) Hopefully that will happen :)  After District meeting we went home and studied and then we really felt like we needed to go to Sister Ritchie's home (in G5). She is the seamstress that sews and mends our clothes. We had a bag of skirts/dresses for her anyways so we figured why not. We went there and her son answered the door. We just knew something was wrong. Then she was laying on her bed and her husbands clothes were there. We just kind of felt that he had passed away (he had been in and out of the hospital). anyways, we were chatting for a bit and she ended up telling us that JD had died and how it had happened. We stayed there for awhile and just talked with her and cried with her. It was really sad but I couldn't believe how optomistic she was! She was so happy! I think that it didn't set in for her yet. Then we went to the Jenkin's for dinner. (they have the pug that is super funny). We went to the Jensen's after dinner because we had an appointment at 6:30 but they weren't home. so we called Brother Woodhouse because he was supposed to be at the appointment and told him to not worry about it. He said that he thought it was at 7 and that we should go back later. so we went to Sister Hammer's house (Relief Society pres in G5) and talked with her for a bit. Out of the corner of our eyes we saw Heidi's car drive by! (She is a woman we have been trying to contact everyday for the past two weeks) so we booked it over there. We got there just as she was backing out of her driveway and were able to set up an appointment! Then we went tot eh Jensen's at 7 and they were home :) The Lord sure watches out for us!! The Jensens weren't able to meet because their car had broken down so we went tracting with Brother woodhouse and Dusty (A ward missionary) down the street. We were walking up the driveway of a house and just as we hit the lawn, this huge guy comes barrelling out of the house and asks us what we are doing. We explained that we were missionaries and were going around to meet everyone in the ward. He said that he was busy cooking and then he held up his hands in a piece sign, put on a huge smile and said "Peace and Chicken Grease ya'll!" we honestly didn't know what to do because he was just standing there. so we left haha. That was the highlight of the night!!

On Thursday we did a lot of tracting and weren't having any luck. so we went to the Stake Presiden't house but he wasn't home. His wife Sister Follett was home and we talked with her for a bit. She is really into natural medicine and talked with us about that. She hasn't been to church in awhile because she is so sick and was joking around that she is going inactive. so when we did progress records this week, we made one just for President Follett for his wife saying that she is inactive, and her granddaughter is the fellowshipper haha it was funny and he laughed really hard.

Friday we had a lesson with Sister Daniels in G5. We watched some conference talks with her. She recognizes the gospel so much in her life and how the holy ghost directs her. I love seeing that!  Then we went over to Bishop Blanchards house but he wasn't home. But sister Blanchard was home and we talked to her about the ward and what we can do to help. Then we went grocery shopping in her garden. at night we did more tracting and had dinner at the Ahlburg's. They put peaches on their ice cream. Maybe it's just me but i thought it was so weird. But i tried it and i'm converted. so good. We finally had a lesson with Jonnie!! She is an investigator we are teaching in the G5 ward. we teach her at her neighbor's house (Who happens to be Bishop Harper). She is totally committed to the gospel and baptism!!

Saturday was slow. No one was home at all. I don't blame them, it was really nice out. We stopped at the Hampton's and gave them some pointers on how to invite friends to church etc. Then we got over to a house we have been trying to contact for awhile. The Messingers. The daughter is just about to have surgery. She dind't have a soft spot on her skull as a kid and her brain is growing down her spine!! I sure hope that everything works out for her. Then we went to Melissa and Adam Dean's for dinner. They are in the G5 ward. We love them!!! He teaches mechanical engineering at BYU-I and she is the YW president in the ward. They are awesome. They ahve two girls Kayla and Morgan. After dinner, we went tracting and then came back to get left overs to take home. We were walking outside with sister dean and Kayla was racing bikes with a neighbor girl. Their tires collided and she completely biffed it!! Sister Dean just said oh jeez i hope i don't see blood. They wer at a neighboor hood party so everyone was outside. Adam ran over with kleenex and we saw that they were red. She had  knocked her front tooth out and chipped the other and bit her lip. It was pretty nasty but she was so brave! We saw her at church the next day and it was very swollen.

sunday was great!! We went to Heidi's after church in G5 and got to know her and her three kids Stetson, Sammie and Harley. It was fun! I braided Sammie and Harley's hair while we were there. the asked if i could come over everyday before school to do their hair :) they did my hair too...hahaThen we went to Brother Anjulie's house to talk about missionary work. Him and his wife are both converts to the church and have some great stories!! They will be a great tool in getting the work to move along here. Then we had dinner at the Blanchard's house. they were winding down from a family reunion and had just gotten a foreign exchange student from finland! Her name is Paulina!! It was fun to talk to her about her traditions and about Finland. Hopefully we will get to teach her more about the gospel :) Then we had a lesson with the Buyer's. We watched a talk about the Book of Mormon by Tad R. Callister. Marilyn was there too! (She is Bill's mom) It was a really great lesson. The Harper's and Jonnie live a few houses down so we walked over there because everyone was outside. We chased their horse dog around and Brent had just gotten a moter bike so he was chasing down the other dog they have named russel (i think he is a boxer) because he was trying to bite the tires. It was pretty funny. It was such a great night getting to know everyone! I love how everyone here just hangs out outside at night with their neighbors. There were probably 10 four wheelers that went by through out the night just on a drive. Bishop Harper has a razor (A nice golf cart) and his daughter maddie has her temps and drives it everywhere. She was picking up 8 year old boys in the neighboor hood and taking them on "dates" haha. geno she's single.

a few funny things that happened.

we had dinner at the Woodhouse's in G4 and i was telling them about the guy that I taught online at the MTC who was stuck on the "dragon" thing in Revelations. sister woodhouse said what is a dragon? I'm like seriously? it breathes fire, harry potter chased it.... and she still didn't get it. so her husband tried to explain it and she still didn't get it. and then he said Honey, a Dragon!!! and she got it! I guess I say dragon weird...liike Dregen or something like that. haha

At church we sang called to serve as the closing hymn and the congregation was standing. There was a boy in front of us that was shaking his booty so hard to it and dancing and the parent's didn't even notice haha.

I think that's it! Sorry if i forgot to email anyone. mom can you just foward it? Thanks :)

love you all so much!!

Sister Kuhns
