Dear family and Friends,
Thanks so much for the letters! Famliy, if you haven't written me, do it please! At least so I know your alive!!
Things are just swell here in Rigby. I love it here :) and I never want to leave here or sister Owens! We get along too good!
Monday I saw Mike at Walmart! haha. I saw some of my friends from school too. I saw Josie Larson and her Fiance. She showedus her bridals. They were so pretty! Then we had a lesson with Jonnie! She is a progressing investigator that we had. We talked to her about how to have faith in Jesus Christ. It went really well! She is so receptive to the things that we teach her.
Tuesday we watched the movie "On the Lord's Errand" (about President Monson). if you haven't seen it, get off your rump and watch it! It's so good.We had dinner at the Martin's in the G2 ward. He just got released from a bishopbric in a YSA ward. Him and his wife were trying to be matchmakers for us haha.
Then we went to the G2 ward party. sister Crystal, the relief society president, brought me a veggie burger. She is such a sweetheart! The party was fun and a really good way to get to know the members in the ward. Then we went and visited some more people in the stake. I have ben feeling so grateful for the way I was raised
and the family I have. So thank you for all that you do for me :)
Wednesday we had a zone training. We found out that one of our "key indicators" is changing.
We keep track of the kind of lessons we teach, what their activity in the church is etc. One of the key indicators
is lessons taught with a member present. That one is changing to lessons taught in a members home. This is happening church-wide.Not sure when but it is!! and we are excited for us!! We got to teach Adan about the plan of salvation. It was hard because he gets distractedand there were some anti-mormons in the house behind us that were cussing at us in spanish. Maybe we can teach them sometime :)Hopefully we will get to teach him in a members home soon because everything ended up realting to muppets in space. I don't know how but it did. And Brandon's friend Steve-O turner is the scoutmaster where he has been going! So that will be cool.
hen we went to dinner at sister Treasure's house in the G2 ward. She has a hair salon in the back of her house and said she woudl cut our hair! She gave us some good referrals too :)
Then we went to the Ward Party in the G5 ward! There were some non members and less actives there that we got to eat with.
After that we went to Brother Water's house for a ride in the bucket. He works for the Idaho Power Company and was on call
so he had the big truck with him. It was so much fun! He would swing us in circles and pretend to dump us out haha. Did you get the emailthat Sister Water's sent you with the picture of us in it?
After the bucket ride, we went to meet some people with him. We went to a few houses and one of them has some nonmember children that we are going to try teaching soon!
Thursday was weekly planning which usually takes forever. We also got to teach Adan again. We taught him a little more about the Plan of salvation. We went to the Bigelow's house for dinner, they are in the G5 ward. Their house looks like pinterest threw up in it. It is so cute and decorated so well! The kids put on a talent show for us. My favorite was the 5 year old boy who sang "I should have been a cowboy" from heart. He belted that out so loud and it was so cute! One of the other boys played the piano and the little girl danced. so cute. Then we went over to Sister Follets house (She is the Stake President's wife)And she was pretty sick so we made the family dinner haha. It was fun!
Friday we had a lesson with Candy about the atonement and how to overcome our burdens and adversity. It went pretty good. Then we went to Sister Ritchie's. (She is the one who's husband just died)She is doing suprisingly well! We had a wonderful talk with her. She loves when we come over to visit. Then we visited the Hawke's. They are a Less Active family. They love meat so much. They gave us chicken Jerkey. It looked like stale raw fish. I'm glad "I don't eat meat haha. We talked with themabout missionary work. Then we had dinner at the Angiuli's. He is the High Councilman over missionary work. She is a nutritionist/life coach. We learned a lot from her!It was a great dinner and good talk with them. He really is pumped up about the missionary work and wants to get things rolling.
Saturday was so fun. We volunteered at the Rexburg Rush Triathalon! We were there at 6:20 and left at 1:00 pm. Sister Owens and I were stationed at thefinish line to cut up and hand out fruit to the tiathleates. It was fun to cheer everyone on. We saw a lot of people we knew too! Then we had dinner and a lesson at the Buyers. Marilyn was there too. We talked to her a lot about baptism, but she says that she isn't ready.I hope that we can keep teaching her!! Then we had our first lesson with Slayde (like you just got slayed by a vampire). He is 8years old and AMAZING. I love that kid! We taught him about God, and baptism and how to pray. I asked him to be baptized and he said yes!!He is going to be baptized on September 5th! I asked him why he wants to be baptizedand he said "so I can feel good and fresh!" What a little stud. He said the closing prayer and hadeveryone in tears. It was so sweet. After he prayed he jumped up and said "That was awesome! Can I do that all the time?
Sunday we went to Eva Hampton's baby blessing. ( I think I sent a picture of her. Her mom made the dress! So pretty! )
Then we went to a luncheon after for it. We visited a part member family to get to know them. they aren't really interested
but said they will support us in our missionary work. Then we went to dinner at the baileys he is our WML in the G3 ward. That family is awesome.after dinner we had a full on dart gun/foam sword fight!! haha it was awesome.
Then we went to Brother Waters to talk to him about the ward and the progress. After that he let us write the Go-Ped. haha sofunnyI couldn't get it to start so i just stood on it and he stood on it too behind me to start it. It was so awkwar and I yelled is this allowed?everyone was cracking up. then I jetted off into the abyss of idaho. I finally got it turned around to find that I was pretty much riding into a car that didn't haveit's lights on. And I think they were drunk. High five to whatever made me veer off the road.
I love Idaho! We are working hard!! I love you family and friends. thanks for everything you do!
Love,
Sister Kuhns
