I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!!!
There is a woman named Veronica in the 11th ward that we absolutely love. She is always watching out for us! I get SO cold at night (I use four comforters...sister bushman only uses one) so she gave me some more blankets!!! I love her! She has some health problems so we asked if we could help her make her Thanksgiving meal! She had us come over the day before and we cooked all day long! It was a blast! She has a dog named Chewy. (He looks like chewebacca from Star Wars haha)
Thanksgiving morning our Zone and another zone volunterred at the 5K turkey trot race! All we had to do was cheer people on. It rocked. And we got hot chocolate and free hand warmers. bonus! Elder Bishop ripped his pants in the crotch which was probably the highlight.
My Thanksgiving was so interesting. I loved it though! Sister Bushman, Elder Bishop, Elder Meehan, and I went to a less active family's house for dinner. They have a four course meal. They are Italian, so they start with an Italian soup, then Pasta, then the Turkey dinner, and then dessert. And we wait 20 minutes between each course to let it settle. I was so stinkin' full it wasn't even funny. Then after dinner, the mom starts bringing out all of this random stuff like a netti pot, shavers, floss, dish soap etc and piles it in front of us! she's like "I'm a couponer! Take all you want!" and as we were leaving she shouted "Do you need any TP or Tampax!" haha that was a tad awkward with the elders right there....
We had a miracle this week!! We have been praying for new investigators, and last p-day we checked our voicemail and we had a message from a man named Kyle telling us that he just moved here and wants to be baptized! HOLLA! We were so pumped!
This week was pretty slow with Thanksgiving and all. There was no one home at all! but we have gotten plenty of left overs from people!
Sister Bushman and I got to go to the temple this week!! It was so beautiful and Peaceful and PACKED! I love the temple!
On Sunday morning President and Sister Brinkerhoff came to our apartment to visit us! They came to Sacrament meeting with us too. We were speaking that day so they sat on the stand with us and got to bear their testimonies. They are like celebrities here. Everyone flocked them after the meeting. We also taught combined young mens and young womens about the missionary purpose and had a Q & A at the end of the lesson. It was so fun! I love the youth! They crack me up. And the young men shared their puppy chow with us so I love them even more! Then we taught a youth sunday school class about setting and acheiving goals. It was a busy sunday!!
Sister Bushman and I are slowly decorating our apartment for Christmas. We are poor so we just ask the senior missionaries for newspapers and we make slowflakes. So our window is super pretty, but everything else...eeeeh not so much. We have a pretty ghetto apartment. We bought a scentsy though so now it doesn't smell like Cigarette smoke! YES!
I love you all lots and lots! Thanks for everything! Happy Birthday Annie!!
love,
Cami
