Teva is doing really good. We saw him a lot this week. He is such a great guy and is progressing well! We see him all the time. He will randomly text us and ask us what we are doing for lunch and then bring us food, or he will bring us Kiwi Loco at night (Frozen Yogurt). Such a good friend.
The weather has been great here and I am getting sun burnt The other day, we were waiting for a ride at the VC and we went to the greenbelt (the river) and sat on a bench in the sun and studied. And we have been teaching Teva on the temple grounds now because it's nice out. The spirit is so strong there! We also have an outdoor scavenger hunt for kids. There is this family in the 3rd ward where we serve (the Hart's) that we are really close with. They came to the VC yesterday and we did the scavenger hunt with the kids. There is one boy who is 8 years old and his name is Ian. he is in LOVE with Sister Jacobson. He always runs up to her and gives her big hugs. He just loves her. He also is the youngest member of the ward choir. so cute. And he is very health conscious At dinner the other day, he was drinking this odwalla juice thing and announced that it only had 120 calories in it and if it had more, he would be more energetic.
We found a new investigator this week! His name is Corbin! He is nine, and is a cutie patootie. He is soaking everything up! He goes to scouts a lot and loves church! He was wearing a barbie band-aid at our first lesson and we gave him such a hard time for it. I think I'm going to buy him some hot wheels band-aids to make up for it. He is getting baptized on May 18th!
The Funeral for Sister Hay was on Saturday. It went really well and the spirit was very strong. We helped out for the whole thing. I'm grateful we could be apart of it. We missed Sister Tanayo's funeral (She was 93, and is Polynesian . But we heard it was a party!!! They had dancing and singing during the luncheon, and at the burial at the cemetery they did the Hakka I wish we could have been there!
At the 5th Sunday lesson in the 31st ward, we had a combined lesson about Missionary Work. we did some role-playing with the ward for about 15 minutes to help them practice inviting friends to church, activities etc. It was pretty funny. We would call on people to come up and practice haha so fun. This one young man came up and practiced inviting our ward misison leader Brother Neeley (who was pretending to not be a member) to hear from the missionaires. He said "We have these really cute sister missionaries that can teach you, do you want to come?" and Brother Neeley replied "Oh yes! I would love to!" We blushed pretty bad and everyone was laughing.
Brandon, Danielle, Rissa, Makayla and Annie took us out to eat on Saturday night! It was fun to see them :) Annie and Makayla are getting so big, I can't believe it! They are so cute!!!!
I love you all so much! I'm glad everyone is doing well! I am so grateful for the Atonement !! It means so much to me. I love being able to Testify of Jesus Christ and what the Atonement means to me every day on my mission. This gospel can change lives!!
love,
Sister Kuhns
