January 14, 2013 letter

Hey Everyone!

This week has been great!

We found a new investigator names Kaic (like K.C.) She is amazing. she has had a very hard life and is prepared to hear the truth! We introduced the Book of Mormon to her. We had the Relief Society president (Sister Russell) come with us and she was a great support. Kaic said her first prayer that night at the lesson. There is something about hearing someone say a prayer for the first time...I can't help but feel the spirit. They are finally finding that connection with their Heavenly Father. Think about how happy he must be when he gets to hear from one of His children who He hasn't heard from in a very long time. It's almost like I can feel the same way He is feeling.

Sister Bushman and I went on exchanges!!!!!!!!! It was super fun! Sister Bushman went to Sister Corry's area in the Ammon Foothills, and Sister Beniato (Sister Corry's companion) came with me to my area. (Sister Beniato is from Kirabati, you should look it up! This is the first time that she has seen snow) Exchanges was a great experience. Sister Beniato and I really hit the ground running. Sister Bushman and I have gotten an lot of referrals and we haven't had much time to contact them....so Sister Beniato and I sent out a mass text to sisters who give us rides and lined up people to drive us around and contact people! We were able to get into 9 houses and teach lessons. It was such a blessing!! I love coming back home at night and feeling exhausted. I know I have worked my hardest when I feel like that!

Sister Bushman and I have been putting together a stake activity for the priests and laurels....we are calling it an "MTC Experience." We are basically going to have it set up like the MTC, and have different missionaries teach classes, we will randomly assign companions and we are making them all mission calls that they will get next Sunday at church! I'm really excited about it. It will be really really fun.

Last night there were 3 sets of Sisters working at the VC and it was really really slow. Elder Andrus wanted to close an hour early....but we all retalliated haha. We all ended up going into the theatre and I took requests at the piano and we sang hymns for a good 45 minutes. It was beautiful! Music always has a way of inviting the spirit. Speaking of Music, Sister Bushman and I are doing a musical number next week in church. I'm playing piano and she is Singing. We are doing an arrangement of I Know that My Redeemer Lives.

I really can't think of anything else...sorry this was a short email!! Sister Bushman is still recovering from the flu....so I have been able to do lots of studying :) I love reading the scriptures!!!

I love all of you! Thanks so much for everything!
-Cami-
