It all started at the Wapello
2nd ward Hand Gun Safety and use Relief Society activity. First there
was a training by a husband and wife who love guns. The first thing that
happened was the wife pulling a hand gun out from under her pant leg. Iintense. Then, just imagine about 25 older women with their hand guns on
their laps eager to learn how to use them. We went through what
different parts of the gun are called, how to load ammo, how to unload
ammo, etc. Then it was time to go out and shoot. The instructor clearly
explained that when we are outside, there will only be 4 women shooting
at a time. Then he will say "ready, draw, shoot" and then you will be
able to shoot 2-4 bullets. Sister Riding and I aren't allowed to handle
any firearms so we just watched the action while interacting with the
other sisters there. A woman named Eugene came up to us and gave us
quite a few reasons about how she didn't think that this activity was Christ-like or appropriate. A few minutes later we hear a random gun
going off. Everyone ducks and looks over to see Eugene off by herself
with her ear muffs on shooting a gun. haha! It was shocking.
That moment when...
-Sister Riding and I had two dinners and desserts in a row on Sunday and we thought we were going to be sick.
-A truck with a horse trailer pulled up next to us, slammed on the brakes and the horse fell over.
- Cody is getting baptized on Saturday and he was in the primary program this past Sunday!
-We
tried teaching an older woman and later found out that the reason why
she was repeating herself was because she had dementia :(
-All of the apples here are molding so we can add the smell of rot to the list of scents in Blackfoot.
-My shoes are usually covered in horse poop by the end of the day.
-We found a new investigator!!! Her name is Casey and her little sister is Oakley :)
-We are so grateful for the church building bathrooms because we live in the middle of no where.
-The only traffic in Rose right now is from the tractors from Potato Harvest that take up the entire road.
-There was a spider in my shower this morning.
-My Ward Mission Leader is obsessed with Nacho Libre and sometimes refers to us as "chancho"
-A family we are teaching came to church on Sunday!
-Sister Riding, A laurel here and I are planning on being roommates in Provo at some point in our lives.
-During a correlation meeting at our ward mission leaders house, the baby pooped and the diaper blew up...everywhere.
-Cody has 8 cats....now 6 because his dog ate two of them. sad day.
-our Ward Mission Leader's 8 year old son Enoch comes to teach Cody with us.
I love you all and hope that you have a fabulous week!
love,
Sister Kuhns
